We will host a live streamed EthicsTalk show together with our collaboration partner MySpeaker.
During this EthicsTalk we will discuss corruption in the Nordics in the light of the recently published Focus on Anti-corruption report and Nordic Business Ethics survey insights. These results are a reminder that Nordic workplaces are not corrupt free and that organizations must support their employees in identifying normalized misconduct and institutionalized corruption. What’s “normal” or appropiate easily gets confused when we lack clear guidance and support.
With us we will have three seasoned Nordic experts that will consider the results from a company and from a country perspective. The seasoned compliance expert Martin Lønstrup, former Chief Compliance Officer at Falck and to-be VP, Head of Compliance at Sandvik and Juuso Oilinki, senior adviser at the Finnish Ministry of Justice in the Department of Criminal Policy, will add a policy and OECD perspective to the discussion. Jussi Savonen, Head of Litigation and Regulatory at DLA Piper’s Helsinki office will also join the discussion to reflect the role of global law firms in the fight against corruption.
During this talk we will discuss why corruption seems to be more prevalent in some Nordic countries. We will also compare notes on whether there is anything that differs on a country level that may explain these results. In addition, we will reflect upon why new hires and younger employees seem to have a very different view than more seasoned employees.
